Stockpiling groceries when they are on sale is one of the best ways to save money on groceries. Those with a well-rounded stockpile need not worry about inadequate food.

One of the best ways to save money on groceries is to stockpile items when they are on sale at a good price. There are many benefits to having a good, well-rounded grocery stockpile. Here are a few of them:

Stockpiling Groceries Saves a Lot of Money

Simply making a menu and then having to run to the store and buy all or most of the items to prepare meals for the week can run into a whole lot of money. Of course, that is preferable to picking up fast food or dining out several times a week, but even so, there is a better way, and it’s called stockpiling!

A Grocery Stockpile Makes it Easy to Prepare Meals on the Fly

Those who have a substantial stockpile of groceries never have an excuse that they can’t prepare a meal because there aren’t enough ingredients on hand. Though menu planning is an excellent idea, those who stockpile groceries regularly are able to put meals on the table for their families even if they fail to meal plan.

Stockpiling Groceries is Good Insurance Against Other Financial Hardship

Stockpiling certainly doesn’t guarantee getting through the loss of a job or other difficulty without hardship, but it sure can help!

For instance, on a particular month a family may have an unexpected $300 medical bill that they were not prepared for financially. Those who have a good, well-rounded stockpile of groceries can choose to buy just a few items at the grocery store that month such as produce, milk and eggs and apply the money they would normally spend on groceries to the medical bill and get through the month without it hurting much financially.

Those with a Large Grocery Stockpile Can Bless Others in Need

Those with a large stockpile of groceries always have an abundance of food and other items on hand, and many of the items were likely picked up on sale at very low prices. Such an abundance makes it easy to bless others who are less fortunate.

Some possibilities include donating to church or community food banks, helping newlyweds stock their pantries for the first time, and the provision of free groceries and other items for friends and family members in need. Stockpiling is not hoarding for those who have a generous spirit and heart to help others in need!

Building up a substantial stockpile of groceries is an excellent way to save money on groceries and be prepared for times of financial hardship. It’s also a great way to always have plenty of food on hand to prepare meals on the fly, not to mention a way to be poised to help others through times of financial difficulty.
